Aesop's Treasury Books and Games

Aesop's Treasury has a strict policy on carrying large bags, purses, and backpacks throughout the retail section of our store and sometimes we are met with resistance, even defiance, on this policy. The reason may not be clear to everyone. As a small business, it is essential that our assets are protected. Though the policy applies to all who enter with a large bag, large purse, or backpack, that does not mean we are accusing anyone of being a thief. But please bear in mind that we did not expect the 65-year old man to fill his coat sleeves with used Christian/Inspiration books and we didn't expect the two very personable young gentleman, on two separate occasions, to fill their backpacks with hundreds of dollars of merchandise and walk out of the store, nor did we expect the 12-year old girl to abscond with numerous items throughout our store.

Folks, asking you to LOCK up your large bag, large purse, or backpack in the bright, shiny, new, large lockers, one where you hold the key until you're done shopping, is not an accusation nor is it optional. You're always welcome to lock it in the trunk of your vehicle or even just carry your wallet, but it not optional and applies to everyone.
